Who needs them?Regulations state personal eye protectors are required “In areas where a significant risk from eye and face hazards exists and it is not possible to eliminate or control eye and face hazards, personal eye and face protectors shall be provided and worn at all times by persons working in or passing through such areas (AS/NZS 1336:2014 4.1)”. If you are in an environment where there are potential hazards and need of eye protection “Every effort should be made to eliminate eye and face hazards by means of appropriate engineering methods (AS/NZS 1336:2014 2.1)”. The employers should maintain safety measures by reviewing the measures regularly to ensure the effectiveness of the safety measures is maintained (AS/NZS 1336:2014 2.2).If you are unsure whether you need safety glasses or you need to supply safety glasses for your employees please see table 4.1 of AS/NZS 1336:2014). All our Adult eye examinations include Retinal photos, visual field screening tests and a laser assessment of the optic nerve.We recommend everyone to get an eye examination every 2 years. If you wear prescription safety glasses “the wearer should have an eye examination at no greater than two yearly intervals at which time the prescription eye protectors can be inspected (AS/NZS 1336:2014 4.6)”. Our independent practice is in Pukekohe and plenty of off street parking is available. As members of the IOP group this allows us to have centralized billing if required. |

The safety glasses can be full progressive, bifocal, single vision or occupational progressives. We can also supply Transitions and full tint in safety glasses where this is deemed necessary by the employer. Our certified safety eyewear ranges come with a warranty of 12-24 months.
